Hanks students celebrate “Hanksgiving”

Students from Hanks High School continued a tradition on Tuesday by handing out meals to those in need in the 16th annual “Hanksgiving.”

525 baskets were delivered across the entire El Paso community by the Hanks High School Interact club. Over the years, other schools have joined their efforts including rival Eastwood and those in the Hanks feeder system.

Besides dropping off the baskets in the Hanks area, volunteers drove around town to deliver the baskets to shelters like Open Arms, the Salvation Army, St. Ignatius Church, Villa Maria, the Opportunity Center, Rescue Mission, and the Ronald McDonald House.
