Woman killed in crash on Highway 70

Authorities say a woman was killed in a rollover on Highway 70 near Alamogordo Monday.

The crash happened on the eastbound lanes in the early afternoon.

Emergency crews on the scene say the woman was not wearing a seatbelt, and was the only person in the car.

One of the emergency workers told our New Mexico Mobile Newsroom a seatbelt may have made a difference in this particular crash.

The woman’s body was thrown from the car, and landed about 75 feet from where the car had stopped rolling.

At this point it is unknown what caused the crash
