First Alert in effect for the weekend cool down, wind, and rain

The ABC-7 StormTrack Weather team issued an ABC-7 First Alert for weather changes that will arrive this weekend.

A winter storm system will move into the region late Friday. Expect an increase of mountain snow showers with a rain snow mix for the lower elevations Friday night through Sunday.

The lower elevations may not see much if any snow accumulation. This weather system has the potential to produce 5 to 10 inches of snow for the Sacramento Mountains.

Thursday Afternoon Forecast:

Dry conditions with warmer temperatures today. Mostly sunny. Highs around 60. Southwest winds 5-10 mph. Tonight: Partly cloudy. Lows in the upper 30s.
