BREAKING NEWS UPDATE – EPPD joins house fire investigation
NEW TONIGHT: The investigation into the central El Paso house fire that left a woman with serious injuries is intensifying tonight.
El Paso Police joins the investigation tonight, tweeting , “CAP assisting FD reference house fire at 3100 Dyer.”
ABC-7 is on the scene tonight trying to get details on why EPPD’s Crimes Against Persons unit is assisting EPFD investigators.
ABC-7 learned a woman who was pulled from the burning home on the corner of Idalia and Dyer was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries. She was found on the second floor of the home.
Neighbors called 911 around 2:30 p.m., telling operators flames were pouring out of the home.
When firefighters arrived, the home’s second floor was fully engulfed in flames.
Damage is estimated at $175,000.
Fernando Romero, who owns the home right next to the fire-ravaged property, told ABC-7 the home “has been condemned for many years and no one was supposed to be living there.”
