Officer receives minor injuries after an 18-wheeler rams into the officers patrol car

The crash happened Saturday shortly before 7 a.m. at the Anthony overpass at I-10 and Frontage Road. Police told ABC-7 the driver of the 18-wheeler was crossing the overpass when it ran out of gas. Police said the driver released the break and the semi started rolling back– hitting another vehicle and a police car.

The police officer received minor injuries, and the driver of the other vehicle involved was not injured.

The Anthony overpass was closed Saturday morning due to the crash.
