Police: Las Cruces man arrested after girl tells therapist of alleged fondling
A young girl revealed to her mental-health therapist that man who cared for her allegedly fondled her, Las Cruces police said
The girl was 5 or 6 when 40-year-old Ramiro Ruiz allegedly touched her inappropriately in 2014 at his Las Cruces home.
Ruiz, who lives in the 2300 block of Solar Way, was charged with two counts of criminal sexual contact of a child.
The allegations surfaced earlier this month when the young girl disclosed the inappropriate contact to a mental health therapist.
Las Cruces police arrested Ruiz on Jan. 24 and booked him into the Doña Ana County Detention Center. He was released on bond the following day.
