Cowboys’ Prescott named NFL Rookie of the Year

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has been named the Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year following a remarkable season in which he went from 3rd stringer to guiding the Cowboys to the #1 seed in the NFC.

Prescott’s contributions on the field following Tony Romo’s pre-season injury helped the Cowboys tie a franchise-record 13-win season.

“It’s an honor. It’s a privilege,” Prescott said on NFL Network’s “Good Morning Football.” “It’s so humbling, especially just the great rookie class we had this year.”

During his rookie season, Prescott completed 311 passes, passed for 3,667 yards, had a completion percentage of 67.8 percent, threw 23 touchdown passes, and was only intercepted four times. His quarterback rating was a solid 104.9.
