East El Paso home damaged in fire

Crews battle a fire in East El Paso Saturday morning.

The fire happened shortly after 10 A.M. on the 1600 block of Bob Smith.

Crews found heavy smoke and fire coming out of the garage and attic space of a single-story home. Officials say fortunately, no one was inside at the time.

Crews were able to bring the fire under control at around 10:23 A.M. Officials say no injuries were reported and damage is estimated at $75,000.

Officials say there were working fire alarms inside the home. The cause is still unclear.
