Fire at recycling plant Tuesday morning

A fire that broke out in a recycling plant in East El Paso Tuesday morning is now under control, according to the El Paso Fire Department.

The fire happened at SA Recycling Plant on the 6800 block of Market Street, where metal scraps are recycled.

The fire is a condition 1 — which is considered non-serious.

It broke at around 5 a.m. Tuesday morning.

A EPFD battalion chief told ABC-7 no injuries were reported, he also added the that from the looks of what was found the fire could have been “spontaneous.” EPFD is still investigating.
