Man wanted in connection with 1995 murder in Roswell arrested in El Paso
A burglary suspect in El Paso was allegedly linked to a 1995 murder in Roswell, New Mexico, El Paso Police said.
A warrant for 39-year-old Rafael Rodriguez was issued after an alleged family violence and burglary case reported February 26, 2017.
On March 6, 2017, officers were contacted by Rodriguez’s attorney who informed them his client wanted to turn himself in.
Police officers booked Rodriguez into the El Paso County Detention Facility for the Burglary of Habitation warrant.
While investigating the case, officers learned Rodriguez had an alias and had been living under an assumed identity as Rafael Rodriguez.
A warrant check on the alias revealed an outstanding warrant for Murder.
Investigators allegedly confirmed, through fingerprints, the offender’s true identity as 38-year-old Francisco Martinez.
