NMSU women’s basketball team advances to WAC Tournament Finals

The New Mexico State women’s basketball remained perfect against WAC competition this season with a 71-63 win over UMKC to advance to the WAC Tournament championship game.

The Aggies were able to use a big run in the third quarter to push their lead 14 entering the fourth quarter and held on for an eight-point win.

Moriah Mack led the team with 21 points, while Tamera William chipped in 18 of her own to lead the Aggies to victory.

As a team, the Aggies were 7-11 from downtown, while holding UMKC to just one made three on 11 attempts.

The Aggies benefited from a bye in the quarterfinals of the tournament, which they earned by winning the WAC regular season title.

NMSU improved to 23-6 overall on the season and 15-0 versus conference opponents with the win.

New Mexico State will play in the tournament championship game on Saturday at 4 p.m. MST against Seattle in Las Vegas with an automatic spot in the Big Dance on the line.
