Ross Middle student struck on her way to school; driver did not yield right of way, spokesman says

A driver struck a 12-year-old girl walking to Ross Middle School Monday morning, EPISD Spokesman Gustavo Reveles confirms.

The girl was struck by a car while crossing Geronimo at Hughey, Reveles said.

The spokesman told ABC-7 the student was using a cross walk, but the driver failed to yield the right of way.

EMS crews rushed the student to a nearby hospital with injuries to her torso and leg.

ABC-7 reached out to police to find out if the driver was cited or charged.
