Eastlake’s Briana Valdez signs with North Texas softball

Eastlake softball star Briana Valdez signed her letter of intent Wednesday afternoon to continue her playing career at North Texas.

Valdez is a pitcher and infielder for the Falcons and also is class president.

She has previously been named to the All-City and All-Conference first teams in her career with the Falcons.

When asked why she chose North Texas, Valdez said it was simply the perfect fit.

“North Texas is a beautiful school. The coaching staff is beyond amazing. The players just love the game,” she said.

Valdez was surrounded by friends and family at the school’s signing ceremony on Wednesday afternoon.

Wednesday marked the first day of the late signing period for high school athletes looking to continue their careers in college.

All in all, Valdez had a pretty good day – and she’s got quite a bright future to look forward to with the Mean Green.

“The first time I stepped on campus, I just fell in love with the campus,” she said. “The vision that the coaches have for the players is just something I was looking for in my softball journey.”
