Military trains in rigorous training exercise: Iron Focus 17
Paladin artillery crew members assigned to Battery B,. 4th Battalion, 27th Field Artillery Regiment. 2nd Brigade Combat team and 1st Armored Division are training during the Iron Focus 17 military exercise.
The exercise started May 10th and is taking place at the Orogrande, New Mexico training site. It helps the commander to focus on leadership, training and resources to improve combat readiness and worldwide operations. It also informs those in command what the battalion needs to work on before being deployed.
In one particular exercise, the engineers helped pave the way for offensive force to continue moving forward.
“I’m very proud of what the engineers have accomplished here today. As a philosphy we ensure that we enable the brigade. In order to do that, we’re ready to perform at a moment’s notice.” Commander David Noble of Fort Bliss said. “We are accountable for our actions. We are the masters of our craft, and over-archingly, stewards of the profession.”
Iron Focus 17 is the last exercise before the troops head to the national training center.
