Abundant Living Faith Center opens west side location
Sunday was the grand opening of Abundant Living Faith Center’s west side campus.
The church serves roughly 15,000 parishioners weekly in east El Paso. This new location finally opened it’s doors after five to six years of planning and construction.
“For some parts of the west side it would take 30 minutes to an hour to get to our church on the east side and of course everyone knows the west side is growing exponentially,” Pastor Jared Nieman, the son of church co-founder Charles Nieman told ABC-7.
The 89,000 square foot building has a performing arts style theater where services are held. It has 1,900 seats. There are kids classes, a book store and cafe. In total, the new center cost $22 million.
“The church has raised about $3 million and we borrowed the rest,” Nieman said.
Nieman says while it’s not clear how many people will attend the new center, 3,000 people currently attending the east side center were from the west side of town.
He says the planning and construction for the new facility took 5 to 6 years to complete.
“When a dream you’ve had for so long finally happens it’s a very surreal feeling but we’re so excited and we’re just really here to serve,” Nieman said.
The new location is at 7100 N. Desert Blvd. It holds services on Wednesdays at 7 p.m. and Sundays at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.
