Nichole Gomez visits Tierra Del Sol Del Sol Elementary

StormTRACKer Nichole Gomez visited Tierra Del Sol Elementary Friday, May 19th, for an ABC-7 StormTrack Weather Academy. Around 200 4th and 5th grade students gathered in the cafeteria for an hour-long presentation.

Nichole Gomez stressed the importance of education and gave the students a virtual tour of the KVIA newsroom and studio. She discussed the different roles of the Good Morning El Paso news team and why each TV personality plays an important role in the newscast.

Throughout the presentation she discussed severe weather and knowing what to do during an ABC-7 First Alert. The presentation included ‘Monsoon Season’ and what that means for the Borderland. Students participated in a hands on experiment by evaluating soil types and saw what happens during flash floods in El Paso.
