El Paso man dies in rollover crash near Sierra Blanca

An El Paso man died in a crash Tuesday morning on Interstate 10 west of Sierra Blanca.

Officials with the Texas Department of Public Safety said Eduardo Hernandez, 47, lost control of his pickup after it hydroplaned on a wet road about 1 a.m. in Hudspeth County.

Troopers said Hernandez lost control of the pickup, which crashed into the desert and rolled over. Hernandez, who was reportedly not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the truck. He was rushed to Del Sol Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

A 12-year-old girl riding and buckled in the truck was not injured. Her relationship to Hernandez was not immediately available.
