The trial continues for a woman accused of intoxication manslaughter

The trial of a woman accused of a fatal crash that killed a man continues Thursday.

Phylicia Pierson is on trial for intoxicated manslaughter and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for the Jan. 2017 crash.

Police said Pierson was driving on I-10 west near Lomaland when she hit a vehicle driven by Morgan Engman, 26, who later died at a hospital.

On Wednesday, an officer who responded to the crash said she found beer cans and marijuana in Pierson’s car.

Pierson allegedly admitted to having two drinks at a bar before driving home, police said.
