Police identify bicyclist killed in hit-and-run in West El Paso

El Paso Police have identified the bicyclist killed in a hit-and-run crash in West El Paso Friday evening.

Police say 46-year-old Joe Villescas from Sunland Park, New Mexico was riding his bike around 11:44 P.M on the 3600 block of Doniphan when he was struck by an unknown vehicle.

Police say the driver was heading north on Doniphan when they struck Villescas, then fled the scene. Villescas died at the scene.

Police say the vehicle that struck Villescas may have a broken headlamp, front-end damage and a missing driver’s side rear view mirror.
