Cielo Vista Church shows support to Estela with soft prayer blanket

A group from Cielo Vista Church presented Estela with a prayer blanket Tuesday evening in the KVIA studios. The group came to the station to offer their support and prayers for Estela who is receiving chemotherapy for breast cancer. Vanessa Townsend from Cielo Vista Church led the prayer.

About two dozen women at the church participate in the blanket ritual that began for educators, then branched out to the church and other people in the El Paso and Juarez community who can benefit from the power of prayer.

Fleece is knotted together to produce the soft prayer blankets. The group shared a prayer with Estela in the KVIA lobby.

This effort is representative of the type of outreach Estela has received from the public since her breast cancer announcement about a week ago.
