Aaron Jones scores first career TD in win over Chicago

Former UTEP star running back Aaron Jones found the end zone a couple of times in the preseason, but now he has a regular season touchdown to his name.

Jones scored on a run from two yards out in the second quarter Thursday night to give the Packers a commanding 21-0 lead over the Bears.

Green Bay would cruise to a 35-14 victory to improve to 3-1 on the season.

After he reached the end zone, Jones got several hugs from teammates before running to the crowd for a “Lambeau Leap.” (Click here to see the touchdown and celebration).

Jones finished the evening with 49 rushing yards on 13 carries. Those carries represented more than half of Green Bay’s rushing attempts (24 total in the game).

He saw significant action after starting running back Ty Montgomery left the game with an apparent chest injury. NFL.com reported he suffered broken ribs, but the Packers had not confirmed that as of late Thursday night.

The Packers next play at Dallas on Sunday, Oct. 8.
