Helen Ball teacher facing 2nd ‘Injury to a Child’ charge, allegedly injured 5-year-old student

The police department’s Crimes Against Children Unit charged a teacher at Helen Ball Elementary with Injury to a Child.

Police said an investigation revealed Olga Najera, 52, “caused injury and pain to a 5-year-old student by hitting the student with an open hand.”

The alleged abuse happened in between July 31 and August 28, 2017, El Paso Police said.

Najera was arrested October 2, 2017 and booked into the El Paso County Jail on a bond of $15,000.

In August 2017, Najera was charged with Injury to a Child in a separate case.
