El Paso Sheriff’s deputies identify person killed in rollover near Vinton
El Paso County Sheriff’s Office deputies have identified the person killed in a deadly rollover just after 1:30 a.m. on eastbound Interstate 10 and exit 2 in Vinton on Saturday.
Investigators say 26 year old Carmen Y. Aguirre was ejected from the vehicle she was riding in. Aguirre died at the scene.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a vehicle was heading eastbound on I-10 when it drove off the interstate for some unknown reason.
The vehicle rolled over and came to rest under the overpass.
Special Traffic Investigators and Crime Scene Investigators are at the scene trying to determine how the rollover happened. I-10 eastbound at Vinton remains closed. We will update you as soon as we get more information.
