Doa Ana sheriff’s deputy charged with battery on a household member

A Doña Ana sheriff’s deputy is on paid administrative leave after being arrested and charged with battery on a household member.

The sheriff’s office confirms Deputy Tress Diaz was arrested September 30th by Las Cruces police at a home on Calle de Rosa. He was booked and released on his own recognizance.

Diaz was placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of criminal and internal investigations.
