EPPD: Man set up sex meeting with detectives pretending to be 13-year-old girl

Police officers with the department’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit arrested and charged a man who allegedly solicited a 13-year-old girl for sexual purposes.

Josue Raul Hernandez, 27, is charged with Online Solicitation of a Minor Under 14 years old.

Police said an investigation revealed Hernandez had been having conversations online with a 13-year old victim and expressed interest in meeting her for sex.

Investigators allegedly established contact with Hernandez using the accuser’s online account, police said.

Hernandez allegedly set up a meeting with investigators, pretending to be the 13-year-old girl, on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 in the 8100 block of Independence.

Detectives arrested Hernandez when he arrived at the address.

Hernandez was booked into the El Paso County Jail on bonds totaling $28,000.
