UPDATE: El Paso police say man died in crash on Sunland Park
El Paso police say a man has died after a crash Wednesday night on the west side.
The crash between a small SUV and a motorcycle happened at Sunland Park Drive and Mesa Hills Drive after 9 P.M.
Police said in a news release that Robert Gonzalez, 34, was riding the motorcycle when he struck a Kia Sorento driven by Michael Mendoza, 49.
Police said the impact threw Gonzalez from the motorcycle. He was transported to University Medical Center where he died from his injuries.
Police said Mendoza failed to yield while making a left turn and that Gonzalez was speeding, and that both are to blame for the crash.
Police have not said if any charges have been issued and the investigation continues.
