Volunteers carrying US flag across the country stop in El Paso
Team Red, White and Blue stopped in El Paso Thursday on a journey to carry an American flag across the country.
Local volunteers gathered at San Jacinto Plaza, with national organization members, running and biking with the flag.
The two-day stop in El Paso, is a part of the 4,216-mile journey that will carry the flag from coast to coast.
The flag started the journey on September 11, in Seattle, and is planned to reach the end of the route in Tampa, Florida, on Veteran’s Day, November 11.
Former County Judge Veronica Escobar spoke at the ceremony this morning.
