El Dorado QB Cedarious Barfield wins national player of the week award

El Dorado senior quarterback Cedarious Barfield is used to putting up big numbers, but he really delivered in Friday’s win over Coronado.

And for his efforts, he’s been named the “Ticket Spicket National Player of the Week.”

Barfield had a tremendous day both throwing and running. He passed for over 300 yards and accounted for four touchdowns through the air. That would be a pretty good day in itself.

However, Barfield added four more touchdowns on the ground and racked up 134 rushing yards.

So, in total, he accounted for more than 400 yards of offense and eight touchdowns in a 53-28 win against Coronado.

The Aztecs have won three games in a row and now sit in third in District 1-6A. They finish out the year with games against Americas and undefeated Pebble Hills.
