Fire engulfs truck carrying trailer full of ham

El Paso Fire Department crews confirmed with ABC-7 that no one was hurt when an 18-wheeler caught fire Friday morning.

The fire was reported around 3:15 a.m. on the northbound lanes of George Dieter Drive, north of Gateway West Boulevard.

The driver told ABC-7 he was carrying a trailer full of ham and that the product will be inspected to see if it can be resold.

Authorities blocked traffic, but it’s all crear now.
