Stray Vado dog now with Southern New Mexico Humane Society

The stray Vado dog that inspired dozens of volunteers to organize a search when it was spotted with its head stuck in a jar, has been located.

The dog was picked up shortly after 3 pm at a house on Coors Road.

The jar was removed from its head on Wednesday, but the dog managed to escape again.

Volunteers captured the stray dog’s companion at 8 am on Thursday and knew it would be a matter of time before they found the dog they were looking for.

The two dogs will be fostered by Frank Bryce, the president of the Southern New Mexico Humane Society.

The search for dog and its friend led volunteers to rescue eight other stray dogs, including six puppies.
