Woman hospitalized after Lower Valley home burns

A woman is in hospital today after a fire broke out in her home on the 300 block of North Zaragoza around 5:00 am.

Esperanza Luna is in critical condition at the hospital, her family telling ABC-7 Luna is alive but on a respirator.

Our crews arrived as smoke was still pouring out of the home in the early morning. It took hours to put out the fire.

ABC-7 crews went again later in the morning and found family pulling into the driveway. They didn’t want to speak with on camera, but did say their grandmother was still alive in the hospital, hooked up to a respirator.

ABC-7 spoke with the family on the phone a short while ago and were told they did not want to comment further. We have reached out to the fire department to see what started the fire, but have not heard back yet. This article will be updated as new information becomes available.
