UPDATE: El Paso sisters allegedly failed to feed dogs on daily basis
One of the two El Paso sisters arrested for allegedly failing to aide their four dogs told police they did not feed or provide water for the dogs on a daily basis, according to a criminal complaint.
Police said Animal Services advised Brittany Bennea Hernandez, 23, and 19-year-old Bianka Allysha Hernandez to provide adequate and veterinary care of four dogs found at their residence at the 8300 block of Hester Street.
On a follow up visit, Animal Services seized the four dogs after finding the sisters allegedly failed to aide the dogs.
The dogs were described as a male golden-yellow Shepard mix, male grey and white Pitbull, female chocolate-brown Chihuahua mix and a female black and white Chihuahua.
The criminal complaint stated the dogs looked malnourished and their backbones, rib bones and hip bones were showing. Police said the dogs were found emaciated and infested with ticks.
The criminal complaint stated that a neighbor was feeding and providing water for the dogs.
The sisters were booked for four counts each of cruelty of non-livestock animals. The sisters were booked into the county jail on $4,000 bonds each.
