Crews demolish interstate overpass

Piece by piece crews worked to demolish the I-10 westbound overpass.

The destruction began Sunday around 3 A.M.

As the sun continued to rise, crews were still knocking away the cement.

The construction is part of a 27-hour long closure, which has shut down a portion of Mesa Street and I-10.

Westbound traffic is being forced to exit at Resler.

Mesa Street is closed in both directions at I-10.

Drivers will not be able to enter I-10 west from Sunland Park.

The closure is scheduled to end at 6 a.m. Monday, according to TxDOT, but they reopened the roadway nine hours ahead of schedule.
