UPDATE: I-10 Westbound now open, 9 hours ahead of schedule

UPDATE: Txdot confirms I-10 westbound is now open, nine hours ahead of schedule.

ORIGINAL STORY:

There’s a major traffic alert for West Side drivers.

I-10 West closed at Resler at 3 a.m. on Sunday. It will be closed until 6 a.m. on Monday.

Mesa Street is also completely closed in both directions under the I-10 overpass. The westbound ramp to I-10 is also closed at Sunland Park.

This is so crews can demolish the westbound overpass at I-10 and Mesa. Traffic will move to the newly constructed median on Monday.

Expect major delays in the area. You can use Mesa, or Transmountain as alternate routes.
