EPPD arrests 2nd suspect in Northeast EP drug killing
Detectives with the Crimes Against Persons Unit arrested and charged a second suspect in connection to the shooting death of 16-year-old Trevion Veal.
20-year-old Richard Soriano has been charged with murder and booked into the county jail on a $1 million bond. Monday, police arrested 17-year old Moses Jack Popp, also charged with with murder.
The shooting happened just before 3 a.m. March 12, 2018 at the apartment complex located at 5250 Wren, police said. Officers found the victim lying dead in the parking lot from a gunshot wound.
Investigators learned the victim, Popp and others had “agreed to an illegal narcotics deal” at the apartment complex. Veal was shot during the drug deal, police said.
Police located Popp later in the day and booked him into the El Paso County Jail on a $750,000 bond.
CAP and the Gang Unit continue their investigation and more arrests are anticipated, police said. This is the third Murder of 2018 investigated by the El Paso Police Department.
