Neighbors shocked in Fabens murder-suicide
ABC-7 has new information on the two bodies found in Fabens Wednesday.
Sheriff’s deputies were called to the 300 hundred block of Northeast H Avenue.
Deputies identified the couple as 55-year-old Daniel Segura and 65-year-old Gloria Segura Cruz.
Investigators determined that the couple died as result of an apparent murder suicide.
On Wednesday afternoon, sheriff’s deputies blocked off Northeast H Avenue after they found the bodies of 55-year old Daniel Segura and 65-year old Gloria Segura Cruz.
While children arrived home from school investigators were searching for clues.
“They were a very nice couple,” Elisa Slape said.
Slape has lived in the neighborhood about 30 years.
She tells ABC-7 Daniel and Gloria Segura were often seen outside their home.
“They kept to themselves, they were friendly,” Slape said.
Even the type of couple that visited the local library together.
“They were regular visitors, checking out books and very kind,” Slape said.
Slape said they were a family on the block that went all out on the holidays.
“Christmas, their house looked beautiful. They had nice decorations and lights flashing. They were a very nice couple,” Slape said.
Despite what the scene looked like Wednesday afternoon, Slape said there was never an instance
were police where at the home or any signs of domestic violence.
The shooting that ended the couple’s life has left Slape saddened and shocked.
“Very surprised because there was never any problem they were … it was quiet, it was friendly they were always looked happy. It was very very surprising to hear what happened to them,” Slape said.
