Deputies in San Antonio shoot, kill homicide suspect
Authorities in San Antonio say they shot and killed a man they say was suspected of killing a woman.
According to the San Antonio Express-News , sheriff’s deputies in Bexar County responded to a shooting report at about 5:15 a.m. Sunday. Deputies found the woman lying on the ground with gunshot wounds and moved her to another location, where she died. They later spotted someone in the nearby woods.
Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar said the deputies told the man to drop a handgun he was carrying. According to Salazar, the gunman “failed to comply” and deputies then shot him.
Salazar did not immediately identify the deputies, the suspect, or the woman who died. The deputies will be placed on leave pending an investigation of the incident.
