El Paso Chihuahuas fall to Salt Lake Bees Tuesday, 14-1

How the tables have turned.

Monday night, the El Paso Chihuahuas were the top dogs after a shut-out win over the Las Vegas 51s, 14-0.

But Tuesday, they had their tail between their legs, losing at home to the Salt Lake Bees 14-1 at Southwest University Park. It moved the Chihuahuas record to 3-2 all-time in home openers.

Here are the stats from the Chihuahuas:

– Former Chihuahua Jabari Blash hit a two-run home run in the second inning off Eric Lauer, one of five homers the Bees hit Tuesday. The game held a close 4-1 score through six innings before the Bees exploded for six runs in the seventh and four more in the eighth.

– Javy Guerra went 2-for-4 with his team-leading sixth RBI. Infielder Diego Goris pitched a scoreless ninth inning, his first appearance on the mound since 2013 at Single-A Fort Wayne.

The team is now 4-2 on the season.

The next game is Wednesday at 11:05 a.m. The game will air on 600 ESPN El Paso and on the team’s website.
