El Paso makes top 125 list of best places to live in U.S.

El Paso was ranked 105 on the 2018 list of best places to live in the U.S., according to U.S. News and World Report.

The report listed 125 places and ranked Austin, TX number one. The report cited how people are drawn to the Texas capital’s music, outdoor spaces and cultural institutions.

Colorado cities Colorado Springs and Denver take second and third, respectively.

The only other Texas or regional cities to make the top 25 were San Antonio at 14, Dallas-Fort Worth at 18 and Phoenix 19.

U.S. News and World Report used data from the U.S. Census Bureau, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Department of Labor to help make its decision.

The data gleaned was categorized into the five metrics then evaluated using a methodology determined by Americans’ preferences. The metrics used were: job market, value, quality of life, desirability and net migration.
