El Paso Rhinos win Thorne Cup championship

The El Paso Rhinos are champions once again.

Sunday night, the Rhinos won the Thorne Cup Championship after defeating the Ogden Mustangs 3-2.

It was quite the journey to get to Sunday’s title game.

After losing the first 2 games of the tournament, the Rhinos had to win two in a row to reach the championship game.

The Mustangs made it difficult jumping out to a 1-0 lead in the first period.

The Rhinos would answer with their first goal of the game in the second period.

With the game tied at 2, El Paso’s Nikita Pintusov would break the deadlock with a goal late in the third period.

That would be the difference as the Rhinos would win the game and be crowned Thorne Cup Champions.
