Police identify man arrested during execution of ‘high risk’ warrant
Police identified the man arrested during a SWAT situation Sunday in Northeast El Paso as 22-year-old Deyone Quartaril Bridges.
At about 2:30 a.m. on April 15, 2018, a man identified by police as as 27-year-old Len Edward Smith was driving on the 9500 block of Kenworthy when several rounds were fired at his vehicle.
Upon arrival, police officers learned the vehicle had been struck by small arms fire. Smith was not wounded or struck by the gunfire, police said. The intersection at Kenworthy and Diana was closed for several hours as investigators gathered evidence.
The investigation into the shooting early Sunday morning resulted in Gang investigators obtaining a “high-risk” warrant to search a residence at 4651 Cohen.
Police and the SWAT officers arrested Bridges and booked him into the El Paso County Detention Facility charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and a previous warrant for Burglary of Habitation.
Bridges’ bonds were over $155,000. Police said his mugshot will not be available “as the case is still under investigation.”
