Jury finds man not guilty on all charges after fiery crash kills his passenger

Saul Quintana was on trial Tuesday morning for allegedly driving drunk and killing his passenger, Javier Ruvalcaba, back in February of 2017 and leaving the scene of the crash.

Police say Quintana allegedly drove straight into a turn-only lane, striking another vehicle leading to the fiery crash.

At the time of the crash, witnesses say there were not all able to identify Quintana as the driver.

Quintana was charged with leaving the scene of an accident, accident involving death, manslaughter and accident involving serious injury.

The jury came back with the verdict about two and a half hours after they began deliberations.

The jury returned not guilty verdicts on all four charges Quintana faced.

“I was innocent from the get go, but I wasn’t there. They were putting me that I was there but I wasn’t there,” Quinatana told ABC-7 after he and his family walked out of the El Paso County courthouse Tuesday morning.
