Texas governor to unveil school safety plan
Gov. Greg Abbott is set to announce a school safety plan Wednesday.
It comes in the days following the deadly shooting at Santa Fe High School where 10 people were killed.
The governor held three roundtable discussions with victims, teachers, law enforcement and lawmakers after the rampage.
In a tweet sent out Tuesday afternoon, Abbott said much of his “broad-based” plan “can be implemented immediately.”
The Texas Legislature would likely have to consider the rest.
Legislators convene in Austin in January.
