Hollywood legend Clint Eastwood spotted in Las Cruces restaurant

Legendary actor and director Clint Eastwood was seen having dinner in Las Cruces Wednesday night.

Eastwood ate dinner and surprised the staff at the Double Eagle restaurant in Old Mesilla.

He is currently filming his new film “The Mule” in the Las Cruces area.

Restaurant manager Kelly Muncrief told ABC-7 that she was starstruck. Sheila Robinson, a server at the restaurant, said it was a moment that she’ll never forget.

Eileen Bermudez, a service manager, said she almost fainted with Eastwood surprised the staff. “He just started walking towards me… he put his hand around me. That just did it for me. I was like I felt like I was just going faint.”

It has been over 50 years since Eastwood filmed a movie in Las Cruces.

“The Mule” is a crime film directed by Clint Eastwood and written by Nick Schenk, based on the true story of Leo Sharp, a World War II veteran who becomes a drug dealer and courier for a Mexican cartel. Reports online state Bradley Cooper and Lawrence Fishburn will co-star.

Eastwood will also be acting in the film.
