Sheriff’s Office identifies man killed in Tornillo shooting
The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office identified the man shot and killed in Tornillo Wednesday as 54-year-old Miguel Rivera. A second man was wounded in the shooting.
“The Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit and Texas Rangers are handling the investigation as a Homicide,” a news release states, “A person of interest has been identified as a possible suspect in the case.”
The victims were shot at about 9 a.m. Wednesday on the 23100 block of Alameda.
Sheriffs deputies, along with a K-9 unit, searched an apartment complex in nearby Fabens, Texas. People there told ABC-7 the investigators were looking for a suspect involved in a shooting.
The sheriff’s office has not confirmed if the suspect in Fabens is connected to the deadly shooting in Tornillo. However, ABC-7 noticed the same detectives at the scene in Fabens showed up at the scene of the deadly shooting in Tornillo.
