LCPD seeks publics help in identifying Arizona Avenue shooters; offer reward

In an effort to identify the shooters in the July 29th shooting on the 1600 block of Arizona Avenue, police are now turning to the publics help in receiving any information about the suspects involved.

Las Cruces Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for any information that may lead to the identity of multiple suspects involved in the shooting that left a 16 year-old boy and 23 year-old man injured.

Police were dispatched to reports of shots fired at around 3. A.M at Arizona Avenue last Sunday. Upon arrival, officers found a 16 year-old with a gunshot wound to his abdomen and a 23 year-old man with a gunshot wound to his head,

First responders immediately transported the boy the University Medical Center of El Paso, while the man was taken to Mountainview Regional Medical Center.

According to investigators, an altercation broke out between attendees at a large house party, which quickly escalated to violence when shots were fired that hit both victims. Further investigation into the incident led police to determine that at least three people fired multiple shots during the fight.

Videos from the incident reviewed by police showed multiple bystanders taking videos or photos with their cell phones during the fight and possibly when the shots were fired.

Two of the alleged shooters have already been identified, however, investigators are asking for anyone with video or photos of the incident to contact police in an effort to identify other possible shooters.

Anyone with information, video, or photos of the incident are asked to call Las Cruces Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. Tips can also be provided through the Las Cruces Crime Stoppers app, “P3 TIPS,” which is available on the App Store for Apple devices and Google Play for Android devices.

Those who provide tips through Crime Stoppers can remain completely anonymous and are not required to provide their information.
