Police identify motorcyclist killed while riding with group on Loop 375

Police said a man riding with a group of motorcyclists died after he collided into the back of an SUV Sunday.

The man has been identified as 24-year-old Jonathan Mark Haywood.

Police said an investigation revealed Haywood was riding east on a 2009 Yamaha YZF-R1 on Loop 375 near Zaragoza shortly before 8 p.m.

Police said Haywood was riding at a high speed with a group of other motorcyclists when the Yamaha he was riding crashed into the rear end of a 2006 Hyundai Tuscan, driven by 58-year-old Lupe Almanzan.

The investigation revealed the motorcyclist was thrown off the motorcycle upon impact. Although he was wearing a helmet, the man died at the scene, police said.
