Study: Men who wear boxers are more fertile
Boxers or briefs: It’s a question many men are asked, but a new study answers which type of undergarments are best for men’s health.
The study conducted by the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health found that men who most frequently wore boxers had significantly higher sperm count and concentration compared to men who opted for tighter undergarments.
Research was conducted on 656 men, ages 32 to 39, who were seeking fertility treatment with partners.
Participants completed a survey that included questions about the style of underwear they wore in the previous three months: Options included boxers, jockeys, bikini, briefs, and other.
Of the 656 men, 53 percent reported that they usually wore boxers.
Data collected showed that men who wore boxers had higher percentages of sperm that are more likely to fertilize an egg.
