Police: Suspect shot brother, shot and killed brother’s friend

Police charged a 24-year-old man in connection to a deadly shooting in West El Paso Monday morning.

Nicholas Peters is charged with Murder and Aggravated Assault-Family Violence. Nicholas was booked into the El Paso County Jail on a $1.2-million bond.

The shooting happened at 3:34 a.m. on August 13, 2018 at 6625 Tarascas.

Police said Nicholas called 911 and reported shooting his brother, 23-year-old Jonathan Peters, and his brother’s friend, 21-year-old Infant Pacheco.

When police officers arrived at the home, they located Nicholas outside the residence and took him into custody.

Inside, officers located a wounded Jonathan and Pacheco’s body. Jonathan was transported to University Medical Center for treatment of a gunshot wound.

Police officials said detectives learned the shooting was the result of an argument between the Peters brothers that led to Nicholas assaulting Jonathan. Pacheco was shot when he intervened, police said.
