Bel Air High School Graduate wins $100,000 Scholarship

A recent graduate of Bel Air High School is part of a very exclusive group.

Andrea Hinojosa is one of five national recipients of a 100-thousand dollar college scholarship from the McDonald’s HACER program.

Andrea will be attending George Washington University to study public health, then return to the borderland to help those who have helped her.

“I never imagined getting such a generous award,” Andrea said. “And it just feels like all my hard work was worth it. Knowing that I was able to do it that it inspires other students that they’re able to do the same thing as I did.”

McDonald’s HACER scholarship program provides scholarships and college resources for eligible Hispanic students.
